Wholehearted Story
Counselling Clinic in Maple Ridge, BC
Wholeheartedness, compassion, and community are the three core values that shape this counselling practice. They guide how decisions are made, how the roles of counsellor and client are understood, and how change itself is approached.
At its core, this work isn’t about fixing people—it’s about creating a space where people can begin to understand themselves more clearly, and with less pressure. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, trauma, stress, or simply feeling stuck in patterns that no longer fit, the process is rooted in collaboration and respect for each person’s pace.
Being part of the Maple Ridge community has also shaped how this clinic has grown. Collaboration with other professionals and local supports has been an important part of building something that feels connected, rather than isolated—where care can extend beyond a single room when needed.
Emily’s journey toward becoming a counsellor began through experiencing the impact of compassion and genuine connection in her own life. Those moments—where she felt seen without needing to perform or explain everything perfectly—left a lasting impression. They led her to study and train in understanding how our internal worlds, relationships, and past experiences shape the way we move through distress, resilience, and identity.
Over time, that learning became something more lived-in. Not just theories or approaches, but a way of sitting with people that prioritizes authenticity over perfection. As a counsellor, Emily created this practice to reflect that—offering counselling that feels grounded, relational, and steady for both clients and counsellors alike.
She continues to be struck by people’s capacity for healing, even in the midst of pain. Not healing that is rushed or forced, but the quieter shifts that happen when someone feels safe enough to begin.
Outside of the counselling room, Emily enjoys the rhythms of everyday life in Maple Ridge—trying new recipes with her family, spending time in The Great Outdoors, and slowing down to enjoy music.
